Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y. partner up to produce a white-hot new single ‘Donut’, available now on Living The Dream and Bandroom Records. Promising to be another anthem, Aussie fans can get familar as the track drops ahead of Booka Shade’s national Australian tour late February 2010.
Staying true to the old adage of quality over quantity, this is only the third collaboration between the Get Physical titans, on the back of the 2005 classic ‘Body Language’ and their deeply hypnotic reinterpretation of Laurie Anderson’s ‘O Superman’ that hit eardrums in 2008.
Worth the wait? You better believe it. As the debut track off new label Living The Dream, the imprint couldn’t have gotten off to a more auspicious start. Like all the best records, it is bares all the trademark Get Physical attributes, but is still quite unlike anything else out there. It’s deep lying strata of microscopic pops ‘n’ clicks is pure M.A.N.D.Y., while the Booka Shade signposts come in the form of the dramatic melodies that transform into a giddy groove that attach itself to your hips and refuses to let go.
Set to move bodies during the Booka Shade’s upcoming Australian Tour, ‘Donut’ is capped off with a string of re-rubs courtesy of Gui Boratto, Boy 8 Bit, James Talk, Ben Hoo and Logistics, ensuring Living The Dream makes one almighty impression on the local club scene.
Also look out for a Booka Shade version of ‘Donut’ on their new forthcoming album due in April.
